Hello World
As a seasoned technologist, it feels wrong to start a personal website with anything else.
I have wanted to build one for years. Back before the first ChatGPT model launched, this took actual effort — hours behind a screen, wrestling with things that had nothing to do with what I wanted to say. Every data scientist I looked up to had one. I told myself I would get to it.
Then came a Masters. Work. Marriage. Parenthood. The years did what years do. And by the time I looked up, the world had changed — in a good way, because now anyone can build a website. The barrier I had been quietly using as an excuse is gone.
So here we are.
Why now
I am on a career break, exploring some things, and I wanted somewhere to document it while it is still happening rather than after I have tidied it into a neat story.
I am committing to building in public. Partly for the discipline, mostly for the feedback and the community I would like to have on this journey. Writing things down in private is just thinking with extra steps.
What this is
Opinions, things I build and experiment with, learnings, reflections, and the advisory work I take on. That looks scattered on paper, but there is a throughline.
If you are here, you probably know me in person, are curious, or want to think a little deeper about things. What I want you to find is my authentic self in my work — my thoughts, my opinions, my learnings, my reflections. My corporal self is limited by how many people I can meaningfully connect with and spend time with. Here, anyone willing can get to know me.
What is coming
Self-exploration and personal growth. Vague, yes. Cliche, definitely.
It has only been two weeks. I want to ease into things before I start declaring what I have figured out. So the early posts will be less "here is my thesis" and more "here is what I am chewing on." The theses will come later, and I would rather earn them than announce them.
If something here makes you think, disagree, or want to compare notes — reach out. That is the whole point.
Stay sane, love deeply. Cheers.
